Bratislava Capitals Add NCAA Transfer Steven Mense to 2026–2027 Roster
Bratislava, Slovakia — The Bratislava Capitals are pleased to announce that NCAA transfer Steven Mense has committed to the organization for the 2026–2027 season.
Mense joins the Capitals following his time in the NCAA, bringing with him high-level collegiate experience, strong hockey IQ, and a proven ability to compete in structured, demanding environments. His addition represents another step forward in the Capitals’ commitment to building a roster capable of developing players for the professional level.
“Steven is exactly the type of player we are looking to bring into our program,” said a Hockey Director Joseph Kolodziej. “He has competed at a high level, understands what it takes to succeed, and is motivated to continue progressing. We believe he will play an important role both on and off the ice.”
As part of the Capitals’ integrated development model, Mense will have the opportunity to continue his academic journey while competing in a professional-style environment designed to prepare players for careers in European hockey. The organization continues to attract players seeking a clear pathway that combines education, development, and exposure to professional opportunities.
The Bratislava Capitals have increasingly become a destination for players looking to take the next step after junior or collegiate hockey. With a focus on meaningful playing time, structured development, and direct access to professional scouting networks, the program provides an alternative route for players aiming to advance their careers.
“I’m excited for the opportunity to join the Bratislava Capitals and continue developing my game,” said Mense. “The combination of hockey, education, and the chance to move toward professional hockey made this the right decision for me.”
Further roster announcements are expected in the coming days and weeks as the Capitals continue to build toward the 2026–2027 season.
