BRATISLAVA CAPITALS ANNOUNCE COMMITMENT OF RHYS DOYLE

BRATISLAVA, SLOVAKIA — September 21, 2026 — The Bratislava Capitals are pleased to announce the commitment of Canadian forward Rhys Doyle to the Capitals program for the 2026–27 season, adding another experienced offensive player to the club's inaugural season representing VSM City University of Seattle in Bratislava.

Doyle, a native of Grande Prairie, Alberta, is a forward listed at 5-foot-11 and 174 pounds. Born August 2, 2004, Doyle brings junior hockey experience and an offensive game to a Capitals roster being assembled to compete in the European Union College Hockey League (EUCHL).

A NEW OPPORTUNITY IN BRATISLAVA

Doyle's commitment comes as the Capitals continue building their roster for the organization's first season combining college academics, international student-athlete opportunities and European hockey competition.

The Capitals will represent VSM City University of Seattle, giving student-athletes the opportunity to pursue an American university education while competing internationally in Bratislava.

“Rhys brings another important piece to our roster,” said Bratislava Capitals Head Coach Karol Fako. “He is a competitive player who can contribute offensively, and we're excited to have him join our group. Not only can he contribute points, but he won best defensive forward for his team just a few years ago, and we see him as a key piece to our penalty kill. He has earned this opportunity, and we're looking forward to seeing what he can accomplish in Bratislava.”

For Doyle, the move represents an opportunity to continue his hockey career while beginning a new international academic and cultural experience in Slovakia.

The Capitals' 2026–27 roster features student-athletes from North America and Europe, creating an international hockey environment in one of Central Europe's most recognizable cities.

The team will play its home games at TIPOS Arena, home of HC Slovan Bratislava, while student-athletes will combine their hockey commitments with their studies at VSM City University of Seattle.

Doyle will join the Capitals wearing No. 10.

“I'm excited for the opportunity to come to Bratislava and be part of the Capitals,” Doyle said. “I'm looking forward to playing college hockey, experiencing Europe and becoming part of the team and the community.”

The Bratislava Capitals welcome Rhys Doyle to Slovakia and look forward to seeing him take the next step in his hockey and academic journey.
