Bratislava Capitals Receive Commitment from USPHL Premier All-Star Defenseman John Marshall Duffy
Bratislava, Slovakia – The Bratislava Capitals are proud to announce that USPHL Premier All-Star defenseman John Marshall Duffy has committed to join the organization for the 2026–2027 season.
Duffy, who earned All-Star honors in the USPHL Premier, brings a proven two-way presence to the Capitals’ blue line. Known for his high hockey IQ, strong first pass, and ability to control pace from the back end, Duffy was one of the most reliable and productive defensemen in the league this past season.
“John is exactly the type of player we are looking to build around,” said Capitals Head Coach Karol Fako. “He plays a complete 200-foot game, competes hard in all three zones, and has the leadership qualities that translate well to the European college hockey environment. His All-Star recognition in the USPHL Premier speaks volumes about his consistency and impact.”
During the 2025–2026 season, Duffy established himself as a cornerstone defenseman, logging heavy minutes in all situations — even strength, penalty kill, and power play. His ability to break pucks out cleanly and join the rush offensively makes him a dynamic addition to the Capitals’ defensive corps.
The commitment further strengthens Bratislava’s recruiting presence in North America as the organization continues to identify high-character players seeking both elite competition and academic advancement opportunities in Europe.
Duffy expressed excitement about taking the next step in his career overseas.
“I’m honored to commit to the Bratislava Capitals,” said Duffy. “The opportunity to continue developing as a player while experiencing hockey in Europe is something I’m really looking forward to. I’m ready to get to work and help the team compete for a championship.”
The Capitals continue to build a competitive roster for the 2026–2027 campaign, targeting players with strong junior resumes and the desire to excel both on the ice and in the classroom.
